Description
A Victorian Doulton Lambeth stoneware ice bucket, also suitable as a pail or biscuit barrel, featuring a relief-molded body decorated in the Aesthetic Movement style. The upper band showcases stylized dark blue foliate scrolls on a textured cream ground, while the lower section displays repeating leaf-like motifs in shades of blue, brown, and beige. It is mounted with a sterling silver rim and swing handle, bearing the maker’s mark “COLLIS & CO” and English hallmarks including a lion passant aa date letter ‘H’, indicating the year 1883. The unglazed base is impressed with a circular “DOULTON LAMBETH” mark, the year “1883”, and handwritten artist’s initials “wb” alongside other production numbers. The interior is unglazed. Height withandle is 4 3/4 inches.
