Description
A Tonala Polychrome Mexican Folk Art Pottery Jug. This earthenware vessel features a rounded body, a large arched strap handle, and two projecting spouts, one of which is functional. It is extensively hand-painted with motifs in black, red-orange, and grey on a light, unglazed ground. The decoration includes geometric patterns, stylized floral elements on the handle, and naturalistic depictions of a deer-like creature amidst plant forms on the body.
